On Monday, April 8, 2024, a partial solar eclipse will pass over North America, between 1:45 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., with the sky becoming darkest at the peak of 3:04 p.m. This is our first day back from Spring Break and will be a normal school day for our district. School operations, including check-in and check-out procedures, and all extra-curricular and athletic events will continue as normal. To ensure a safe school day and dismissal, solar-viewing glasses will be provided to all Pre-K through 12th-grade students and teachers.
While this natural phenomenon does provide a unique learning opportunity and is an exciting experience for our students, we urge parents to review the attached safety precautions and discuss them with your child(ren) to ensure the safety of their eyes.

The Eagles Landing Church Easter Egg Hunt is TODAY! This is a free community event, hosted at Beaverbrook Elementary School, 251 Birdie Rd. The event starts @ 10:00 AM and goes until 1:00 PM. Come and enjoy face painting, activities, games, food, and Egg hunts (PK-1st - 10:30, 2nd and 3rd - 11:00, 4th and 5th - 11:30).

GSCS school nursing services provided a free community screening event for students registering for Griffin-Spalding County Schools in conjunction with Pre-K registration. They provided free screenings for hearing, vision, nutrition and dental yesterday and will again tomorrow.
